ParkPlayer Story

Louise Parkin

Louise is from Easington Colliery ParkPlay in the North East

Louise has been coming to ParkPlay for over three years. Louise started as a ParkPlayer and has become a vital part of Easington Colliery ParkPlay by helping out as a PlayLeader.

Why did you first come to ParkPlay?

“I went along to ParkPlay 3 years ago as something free and fun to do with my then 2 year old son.

I then started to bring along my partner and two girls and it’s now part of our Saturday routine as a whole family!”

What do you love about ParkPlay?

“We love the range of games, getting out and doing something together. We are like one huge family at ParkPlay and we’ve made really good friends.”

What has been the result of coming along to ParkPlay?

“When I was asked to volunteer to help at ParkPlay, I was very eager to get involved!

The confidence that I have gained from doing this even helped me in my personal life. l changed career and retrained to become a teaching assistant.

Through the training and knowledge I have gained from ParkPlay, I now run an afterschool multi-skills and sports club with the children in my school, that is fast becoming the most popular club!”
