What does ParkPlay do behind the scenes to make ParkPlay safe? We spoke to Fliss Pike and Laura Leigh about the amazing work they do to make ParkPlay safe.

Our Parks
“We work hard to make sure we choose the right site for our communities. A place that they can own, enjoy and feel safe in. We complete full risk assessments on sites before choosing them, assessing suitability, access for ParkPlayers and emergency services, and making sure there’s enough space to play!

We work with our PlayLeaders to regularly review our risk assessments, we have emergency action plans in place, and if something isn’t right – we fix it.”

Our PlayLeaders
“ParkPlay works because of its people – and choosing the right PlayLeaders is a key part of our success.

All of our PlayLeaders go through our internal recruitment and training pathway before leading at ParkPlay. They receive bespoke training on delivering a safe and brilliant ParkPlay, we ensure they have enhanced DBS checks and first aid training, and support them on an ongoing basis to make sure they can be the PlayLeader their community needs.”

Our Policies
Our Central Team works hard behind the scenes to create policies that are fit for purpose and keep everyone at ParkPlay safe. We provide guidance and training on a whole host of topics, from playing in wet weather all the way through to dealing with an emergency. We work with our PlayLeaders, partners and industry experts to ensure we are providing the best support possible. All of our policies are live documents – we are never finished with listening, reviewing and considering the guidance we provide.

Safeguarding
Our internal safeguarding team is responsible for ensuring we have robust procedures to minimise the risk of harm at ParkPlay, to respond to concerns or incidents that may occur, and to provide support and advice to our PlayLeaders and ParkPlayers alike.
