ParkPlay launched in Spring 2021 to encourage everyone to be a little more active and to bring communities together. Since then, with the support of partners like Sport England we have successfully launched 41 ParkPlays across the country and regularly welcome over 1,000 ParkPlayers every Saturday morning.

• it’s two hours of free informal community games and activity, every Saturday morning 
• it’s active and inclusive – all generations play together
• it’s a safe, welcoming way for people to connect and have fun, and
• it’s run by the local community for the local community
• Everyone’s invited.

ParkPlay is tackling some of the most pressing social issues of our time – lack of exercise, isolation and mental health. As we recover from Covid and now face the cost of living crisis it’s never been more important to give communities free ways to connect and boost their wellbeing. Our recent research showed that 81% of ParkPlayers agree that ParkPlay has improved their mental wellbeing, and 74% say the amount of activity they do as a family has increased.

Every Saturday we hear countless stories from people about the positive impact ParkPlay is having on them and their community.

So what is our challenge?

We have rolled out across seven regions to date; Essex, West London, Cornwall, Leeds, County Durham, Cumbria and Leicestershire and Rutland.

We have a long list of communities and local authorities saying they love ParkPlay and want it in their area. ParkPlay can only grow with further support.

This support will help us positively impact communities across the country. ParkPlay’s ambition is to change lives and strengthen communities in 450 locations by 2026.

We need to grow and diversify our income to help us build the capacity to inspire and support hundreds of ParkPlays and hundreds of thousands of ParkPlayers across the country.
