Covid-19 update July 2021
We want everyone to have fun at ParkPlay and to remain safe, especially from Covid-19. To do this we have always followed all the national and local guidance to reduce the risk of Covid-19 transmission at ParkPlay and encouraged all ParkPlayers to take other appropriate precautions to keep themselves and others safe.
We developed our own Covid code before we restarted ParkPlay in April, after restrictions were first eased to allow outdoor organised physical activity to return. This can be found on our website and we have regularly communicated it to all ParkPlayers.
On 5th July the Prime Minister announced Step 4 of the roadmap and the further easing of restrictions. Whilst this is unlikely to make a significant difference to how organised outdoor physical activity is put on – being active outside is a comparatively safe activity – we will be continuing to prioritise the safety of everyone at ParkPlay. In large part we will continue to follow our Covid code, such as providing hand sanitiser, asking everyone to register beforehand and asking ParkPlayers not to come to ParkPlay if they have any Covid-19 symptoms.
Over the coming months, we will gradually make some subtle changes to ParkPlay that will help to make the experience even more enjoyable and varied, and closer to our original vision. These include:
– Introducing new games that involve greater physical proximity or contact, e.g. tagging other people
– Greater use of equipment to play new games and activities
– Placing less emphasis on physical distancing before and after ParkPlay
ParkPlay is all about having fun and being active with friends and other people in the community. Being outdoors we’ve been fortunate that once we could return we didn’t have to make too many changes. We will continue to assess the safety of everyone at ParkPlay and respond to any future changes to the guidance.
ParkPlay will be an even more fun and sociable experience as we can enjoy more time with other people in a safe environment. Let’s #MeetMovePlay together.
