Help out at ParkPlay
Help out at ParkPlay

ParkPlay works because people show up for their community.
This could be you.
Every week, volunteers across the country make ParkPlay happen.
Some welcome, lead games and hold the session together. Some show up, join in and bring their energy.
All of them help to make ParkPlay work.
You don’t need to come every week. You don’t need experience.
ParkPlay is brilliant precisely because everyone gets involved – and the more people do, the better it gets.
How volunteering works
There are three ways to volunteer at ParkPlay, and you can move between them at your own pace.
Lend a hand.
The heart of ParkPlay.
Welcome new faces, encourage people to join in, and help create the fun, friendly atmosphere that makes everyone feel they belong.
There’s no pressure and no long-term commitment. Help when you can, as often as works for you. It’s a simple way to support your local community, meet new people and be part of something positive. If you’re a parent, it’s also a great way to enjoy ParkPlay alongside your children.
Ready to get involved? Join our Team Hub and complete a short 20-minute training course to get started.
Plan & Lead.
Making ParkPlay happen.
PlayLeaders bring the energy, lead games and activities, and help create a welcoming space where everyone can join in, have fun and feel included.
You won’t be doing it alone. ParkPlay is team-led, with support every step of the way, and many PlayLeaders volunteer just once or twice a month.
For many, it’s one of the most rewarding hours of their week.
Ready to take the next step? Join our Team Hub to complete a one-hour online training course, followed by a DBS check and first aid training where required.
Support & Mentor.
Help ParkPlay thrive.
PlayDirectors support their local team, mentor PlayLeaders and build relationships that strengthen connections across the community.
Working closely with both their local volunteers and the central ParkPlay team, they help keep sessions welcoming, organised and full of energy, while supporting the growth of ParkPlay in their area.
If you love bringing people together, creating opportunities for people to connect, and making a lasting difference in your community, becoming a PlayDirector can be an incredibly rewarding next step.
” ParkPlay has created a real community and from that I have gained dozens of new friendships.”
Stu, PlayLeader Vange ParkPlay.
Endless opportunities & benefits
Volunteering at ParkPlay is an opportunity to give back to your community, build new skills, make meaningful connections and help create something positive every week.
Welcome people.
Make someone feel welcome.
One friendly conversation can make all the difference. Whether you’re greeting a newcomer, introducing people to each other or encouraging someone to join in, you’ll help create the welcoming atmosphere that ParkPlay is known for.
As a volunteer, you’ll build confidence, communication skills and the satisfaction of knowing you’ve helped someone feel they belong.
Lead play.
Bring play to life.
From leading a game of Endzone to helping organise activities, volunteers help create the energy, fun and laughter that fill our parks each weekend.
It’s a chance to develop leadership skills, think on your feet and discover just how rewarding it can be to bring people together.
Be there.
Be a familiar face.
For many children and adults, seeing the same friendly volunteers each week is what makes ParkPlay feel like home.
By showing up regularly, you’ll build meaningful relationships and become part of a community that genuinely looks forward to seeing you.
Learn & grow.
Learn skills that last.
Volunteering at ParkPlay is a great way to gain practical experience, whether that’s leadership, teamwork, communication, organisation or supporting others.
The skills you develop can boost confidence, strengthen your CV and help you grow both personally and professionally.
Build community.
Strengthen your community.
Every ParkPlay is powered by local people. Volunteers help create spaces where neighbours become friends, families spend time together and communities grow stronger.
In return, you’ll make new connections, meet people you might never otherwise have met and feel more connected to the place you live.
Feel connected.
Find your people.
Many volunteers come to ParkPlay to help out for an hour and end up finding friendships, purpose and a sense of belonging they weren’t expecting.
You might start by lending a hand. You could end up becoming part of a community you didn’t know you needed.
” ParkPlay is very special for me and my son. We started 3 years ago just participating and after a year, I became a PlayLeader. ParkPlay makes us happy, active and allows us to socialise with our community.”
Nilamben, PlayLeader Jubilee ParkPlay.
